My daughter tucked a Crayola-yellow dandelion into my braid and held my hand on the walk to school; my darling, you know the meaning of joy and see it, unfiltered. My son let me hold him in the dark hours and sing him lullabies; oh my little soul, you feel the depths of the universe acutely.

This is awe.

My dog thumped her tail with abandon when I woke up; my steadfast companion, you embody devotion. My cat rolled in the sunny gravel and asked for a belly rub; my sprite, you pursue your desire single-mindedly.

This is the antidote to loneliness.

My husband made room on the couch so I could snuggle and drink my coffee; my love, you make me feel wanted. My friend smiled at me with their eyes; my dear, you reflect me with kindness.

This is connection.

This is abundance.
